All Black legend Frank Bunce is going head to head with Vodafone Warriors’ legend Reuben Wiki in a legendary game of touch rugby to support Kiwi youth. Legend!
The Vodafone NZ Foundation charity game will be the first time these two giants of New Zealand sport meet on the field. Ruben Wiki has returned to training especially for the event.
Frank Bunce, a World of Difference recipient with the Vodafone Foundation, is rapt to support the Vodafone Foundation Cup,
“It’s such a great cause that it’s great to be able to help and contribute where I can. The Vodafone Foundation encourages healthy outcomes for young Kiwis, particularly those young people who are most vulnerable and I’m delighted to be involved,” he says.
The Vodafone Foundation Cup will be held at noon, on Thursday 26 February at Victoria Park in Auckland. Oscar Kightley is donating his time to MC the event and team members will include charity partners, Vodafone staff and members of the public who will ‘bid’ for places on TradeMe. Items donated by Vodafone business suppliers have also been donated for auction on TradeMe and all funds raised will go to the Foundation for its work with Kiwi youth.
The event is part of a series of global celebrations, with 24 Vodafone Foundation’s around the world celebrating their combined contribution to local communities.
Vodafone NZ Foundation Chairman, Michael Stanley, is excited about bringing together so many charity partners.
“This is a great way to celebrate the work being done in support of Kiwi youth and we’re privileged to have two of the great New Zealand sportsmen front up to take part. With Oscar on board as well I’m sure everyone will have a blast and hopefully we can raise awareness of the issues and have fun at the same time.”
